That's odd. I had a great experience with Hauppauge recently.

I bought 2 white label PVR-250MCE's and installed them. They both worked
fine for about 3 months, then one died. I tried it in a windoze system,
too, with bad results.

I sent an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the card model number,
serial number, an explanation of the problems I had and after a few email
exchanges they sent me an RMA number. I shipped the card to them and within
2 weeks I had a new card.

Where and when did you buy the card? I believe they provide a 2 year
warranty. Is your card possibly older than that?

I'd try again.

Good luck.

Subject: [ivtv-devel] Bad card?

Well I officially give up. I believe my PVR-350 card is bad and the
manufacturer not only will not honor the warranty, they are extremely
rude in the process.

I decided to try some windows pvr solutions including the software that
came with card. The card behaved in the same manner. The encoder works
fine. When I use the decoder on the other hand. Any interruptions in
the mpeg stream (as from a ff/rw/pause/Bus lag/etc) will cause the card
to blow up. Of course in windows the result is much more dramatic.
Blue screens, freezes, etc.

Same behavior 3 different OS's = bad hardware in my book. As soon as I
suggested anything about a replacement they stopped answering my emails
and when I call they hang up. Buy.com of course will not touch it now,
its been too long.

I wonder how many other people having problems with the card is because
of crappy manufacturing.

Any ideas, clues, etc? I'm really at the end of my rope. I really hate
to throw away $200 like this.

Thanks
Brent
