I ran JabRef-3.2 and have the same problem now with it, failure to open
entry editor. I purged and reinstalled openjdk-6-jre, and now JabRef-3.2
no longer even starts. Apparently there is a version incompatibility
even though it is the same version of java installed before when
JabRef-3.2 did start. I can no longer start version 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2:
$ java -jar /usr/local/share/JabRef/JabRef-3.2.jar
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
net/sf/jabref/JabRefMain : Unsupported major.minor version 52.0
...
Could not find the main class: net.sf.jabref.JabRefMain. Program will
exit.
Earlier versions of JabRef do run. I find that the problem of access to
entry editor occurs in 2.11b4, but not in 2.11b2 or 2.10. Something in
the upgrade from beta 2 to beta 4 introduced something my system can no
longer handle for some reason.
