This will be very useful as the standard URLConnection set of classes from
the JDK is far from being perfect, contains several limitations and bugs ...
It will be good to have a standard library for doing HTTP connections in
Jakarta. There are several that already exist in the java world but either
they seem to be no longer supported (like
http://www.innovation.ch/java/HTTPClient/) or they are part of bigger
projects (like the HTTP client of Jigsaw). I may even use it on Cactus (I
currently have a limitation for sending several headers with the same header
name because it seems URLConnection is not able to do that) ...
