I can't speak for your other questions on performance, but as of this
time Java on Solaris is the only version which will utilize more than one
processor. It sounds like you have some heavy traffic, so Intel hardware
may not do the trick. I'm a little biased (because of good experiences)
but I would consider Solaris on SPARC.
