There is probably about 0.9% of the market that actually really needs an
EJB server and the rest are kidding themselves.


Anyways, there is quite a few OS EJB engines now...

www.openejb.org (Exoffice and under a BSD license)
www.ejboss.org (I host their CVS and mailing list, but they are under a
stupid GPL license)
www.enhydra.org (not quite there yet as far as i can tell and they
invented yet another license gag)


I would place my bets on openejb.org for now.
