While JavaFX does need to compete with Flex, I think it is also
important to remember that it is suppose to be used in places where
Flash is probably not going.  (eg. Menus for Blu-Ray discs or embedded
devices)

To be honest, I suspect that Sun feels that the place to expand (i.e.
where the profit is) is with device manufacturers, given that Java is
already ubiquitous on servers.
