Hi Francis, I bought a laptop running Vista and haven't had any "real" problems. Sure, it requires some configuration and some getting used to, but that's true with anything new in technology. I'd say don't be afraid to upgrade...I tried to make my XP laptop hold out as long as possible for fear of upgrading to Vista because of the problems you described...And so far, I haven't had any "real" problems.
