Kevin, no horse hockey here. I suspect you just need to delete the Word document text before you paste the Notepad text back. Steps:
Select all in Word Ctrl C copy Del to clean it out. Open Notepad Ctrl V to paste Esc to remove highlight Ctrl A to select again Ctrl C to copy Go back to the empty Word document Ctrl V to paste. I am intrigued by those other suggestions of Alt + H + E and alt, ctrl, shift, S with F6. Have to try them some time.
