Good Day Eric:

I installed the public beta early this afternoon. So far, I've done a quick
overview of the program in particularly the new settings center. I'll be
testing it in Word 2010 and Adobe PDF reader 9. So far, I'm very pleased
and will report that on the beta user form early next week. Thank you.

I use JAWS 12 right now and I did insert f12 and gives me the time with PM
including. I always heard the PM in all JAWS versions.

Hello listers,
my jaws 9 is acting strange. When I press insert F12 to check the time, it
says 3:17 PM. Instead of saying just 3 17 with out saying the :. I am

Have you somehow had your punctuation set to most or maybe all?

There is nothing strange about this. I am also using JAWS 9 with XP Pro,
and when I press Insert-F12, the time is always announced with AM or PM.
That's the way it's supposed to be.

Hi Michael;

It sounds like your punctuation is set on All. Try changing it to Most or
Some and that should clear things up. I tried the All, Most, & Some
punctuation settings using Jaws10 latest. If the punctuation is set on All
the colon is spoken but, not using the other settings. Hope this helps.
Take care.
Mike

I installed JAWS 12 and so far so good. They did many changes to setting and
fixes to Word, IE 8 and other programs. Suggest that whoever wants to get
JAWS 12 read what is new in JAWS 12 before getting it. Good luck to all of
us using it.Holger Fiallo

Hello William,

Your message did not mention the name of the global address book that you
are having trouble with.

However, I do have an idea of what you can do. Open your favorite text
editor. Open the global address book that you are having trouble with and
copy one of the addresses, then try to paste that address into a text file.

This should let you know if it is allowing Jaws / your system to copy and
paste the address.

While I was in school, they switched to an online email program. Whenever
I tried to copy the instructor's email from the message, Jaws would read
that the address was copied, but when I pasted the address there was always
extra data in the pasted address.

As a work around I always pasted the address into a text editor to clean
it up before I used it in the email program.

If you have to cc many different people, it may be helpful to copy the
address one by one paste them into a text file, clean them up and add the
comma separating the addresses and then paste them all at one time into the
intended message.

HTH,

TJ

All: Sometimes it's very important to list an Email address either
on the To line, or the CC line here. We have a global address book, from
which you can draw Email addresses for individuals with which you have not
previously communicated. For some reason, I cannot get the CC field to
populate with addresses drawn from this global address book or if it is,
JAWS
won't read it. The field populates fine if I use addresses from my
personal
address book. Anybody else having this problem and what's the fix if you
  know.
BTW, I'm using a fairly current version of JAWS 11.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

So far it's fine after about an hour of working with it. No problems to
report as of yet. It does seem quite responsive to this point.

So far so good. I tried it with iTune, winamp, and window live email. The
only problem I see is with window live email. Whenever I load it JAWS 12
says welcome to outlook express and them window live email. Follow your
podcast on how to do text with sound with say all scheme and works well. I
need to remember there is no global setting any more. I am OK with it so
far.
