Hi Dan,
It sounds like your address bar has somehow moved, and that is why it is not
performing as expected.
Try this:
1. While in Internet Explorer, go to the view menu, and then open the
toolbars sub-menu.
2. Arrow to, lock the toolbars, and if it is checked, uncheck it.
3. Route Jaws to PC, and then go to the top of the page, and then search
with the Jaws cursor until you find the word address.
4. With the cursor positioned on any part of the word, address, do a double
left mouse click.
5. Now, return to the PC cursor, and then try the F6 key to see if this puts
the URL into focus.
6. If this works, return to the view menu, and then the toolbars sub-menu,
and check, lock the toolbars.
If you cannot focus on the word address, you may need sighted assistance.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Snagging a URL
Unless I am doing something wrong, neither f6 nor alt-d does what I
expect. Firstly, if I turn on keyboard help, neither f6 nor alt-d claim
to do anything. Secondly, when in internet explorer if I go to a page,
then hit alt-d or f6, it says, ""address edit". I do not see a URL at
that point. If I then hit control-c it says "nothing is selected". If I
go to notepad and hit control-v, nothing is copied.
Also, if I look in the keyboard manager under either default or internet
explorer, neither alt-d nor f6 are defined as key strokes.

Try f6.

Sooo, isn't there supposed to be a keystroke that puts me into the
address bar in Internet Explorer so that I can copy the URL of the page
I am on? Insert a says that is what it does, but it doesn't. It only
reads the URL, but I can't copy it. I can do it through properties
using the applications menu, but a single keystroke or two would be
quicker. Have I just forgotten how to do this the easy way?
