hmmm, I have no clue of specialties for .rtf formatted Email, I only get .txt or .html stuff.
since this is governmental (I believe the original was from someone at a .gov address) I would aside from working with the already made suggestions (I take it either your not getting, or the "save attachment" item in the file menu isn't working?) I would as well have a conversation with your bosses about this since they are generally fairly much bound to fix problems for VI individuals in government positions. and this sounds unusual and irregular and so may qualify for a fix inthane -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Justin.Williams2 Sent: Friday, November 02, 2012 9:30 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Attachments in Outlook 2010 Rich Text Try the application key on the message before you open it up. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of inthaneelf Sent: Saturday, November 03, 2012 12:28 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Attachments in Outlook 2010 Rich Text send it to freedom scientific so they know and have a chance to attempt to assist inthane -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Marks, Jim Sent: Thursday, November 01, 2012 8:07 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Attachments in Outlook 2010 Rich Text Attachments in RTF messages behave differently from those in HTML or Plain Text. Neither suggestion below works for RTF attachments in Outlook, but they work fine in HTML and Plain Text formats. Please, if anyone knows how to handle attachments in RTF format in Outlook 2010 with Jaws 14, share your method. For RTF attachments, I used the Jaws 13 keystroke of Jaws+F5 to access the attachment. In Jaws 14, this keystroke no longer serves that purpose. In addition, I cannot save the attachment because the system somehow does not find the attachment I know is there. This is a big deal to me, and may force me to go back to Jaws 13 unless there is a Jaws 14 alternative and/or a fix coming. While in the message body, Press control+home to move to the top of the message. Press shift+tab to move to the previous field. It should say message. Then you can right arrow through the attachments. To open or save an attachment, press the applications key and choose open or save as from the context menu. I have not used these in a RTF message, but since they are Outlook rather than JAWS keystrokes, I think they should work there also. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Marks, Jim Sent: Wednesday, October 31, 2012 10:56 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Attachments in Outlook 2010 Rich Text With Jaws 14 in Outlook 2010 Rich Text messages, how does one access an attachment? The Jaws 13 keystroke of Jaws+F5 does not work, and when I try to save attachments, Jaws does not see the attachment. Put another way, what Jaws 14 keystroke is used to list attachments in an Outlook 2010 message in a rich text format? Messages formatted in html or plain text work well, but I often get RTF formatted messages with attachments.
