Oh yeah, I forgot to add that when installing software such as drivers or installation CDs for your computer via an external hard drive, you can simply press enter on the setup.exe and Windows will behave as if you are installing from the CD.
You can test this for yourself right now by copying an installation CD disk to your computer then opening up the folder and looking for the setup.exe. Launch that .exe file and you will discover that the experience is the same but faster! Don't forget to press cancel to stop the installation when the first screen pops up informing you that you are getting ready to install X software. Do the copied install disks always work in your experience? -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Joseph FreeTech Sent: Tuesday, September 17, 2013 3:28 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Ongoing problem with Outlook 2007 using Jaws 14or 15beta Wow! that's extreme. Give the installation of a second screenreader a shot. By the way, I always "always" make a copy of important installation CDs. I copy the files to an external hard drive by simply highlighting the disk in "Computer" then pressing Control+C to copy then pasting in my Software folder. I also take an ISO of the original installation CD. Since I began doing this, I've never "lost" an installation disk. this is also faster than putting a Braille label on the CD box. I cannot tie it to any particular system change or event. I know it was happening before I installed Jaws 15 beta. FS has suggested I try removing Outlook 2007, including the registry entries and then reinstall it and see if that helps. Unfortunately I have misplaced my MS office 2007 disk. FS also suggested reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling everything. What's that old saying "the cure is worse than the disease"? I don't remember specifically what the culprit was, but I believe that it was another program--possibly the software for my Samsung printer/scanner/fax. Every couple of minutes, it was doing something which caused Jaws to mess up. So, if this is a new behavior, try to determine what has changed on your system just prior to the problem appearing. It may be something as innocent as updated drivers, an application software update or even a Windows patch Tuesday. Was it happening prior to the install of the Jaws 15 beta? Which leads me to a real pet peeve of mine--folks testing out software, especially beta software, on the machine which they rely on daily. I'm sure that others on the list will chime in with other possible solutions.
