No, it doesn't work all the time but often, it does. Easier to restart Jaws with Insert-WindowsKey+F4 ratehr than turning it off and then on.
As far as the skipping of characters while typing, it happens to me also; it seems to have improved somewhat with the latest Jaws16 update, but it still happens.
