In Windows 8 it is called File Explorer, and sometimes referred to as This PC. You can try pressing Windows + X, then arrowing to File Explorer, and right click on this, or do a search from the Start Screen. File Explorer is on the Start screen however.

Hi again friends,

I have installed Windows 8 Professional now and was very disappointed to find that it doesn't seem to come with Windows Media Centre. I checked on the web initially and it seems that you have to purchase this on line, as an add on, has anyone been through this process that could give me some guidance? I am just wondering that once you have made the purchase, what happens if you have to re-build your machine, do you have to purchase Media Centre again? I have not yet activated the Windows 8 as I am still trying to decide on whether I will keep it or go back to Windows 7 but I would like to try to get used to it.

Hi friends,

I have just purchased a copy of Windows 8. With no start bar, it is very different, is anyone able to help me get started with a few itgs and bobs like how to find the accessories, sounds recorder, system information and other things like the Wordpad?

Many thanks in anticipation,
