Running JAWS from the system tray doesn't effect your desktop icon. I have
both, and I have always had both no matter what computer I've had JAWS
installed on.

When you download and install jaws 16, make sure jaws is not showing on the
system tray which will cause it to have an icon for jaws on your desktop.

When it is on the desktop to create a hot key for it, focus on the jaws
icon, press alt enter for the properties.
You will then be in the jaws properties, so tab two times to an edit box
where you can create your keystroke.
The default is CTRL alt j, and let me say this before I get pumbled, it will
not show CTRL alt j, but I've seen several do CTRL alt 1,2, etc. When doing
the keystroke/hot key, press all keys down at the same time.
Tab to the apply button, and press spacebar. On your way to the apply
button, you will come across an ok button, but activate that with the space
bar after you spacebar on the apply button. Just tab back around after
pressing spacebar on the apply button and not shift-tab back to it.

To have the latest version start up, go to the start up options and select
always start up after logging in, and you can even have it speak to you at
the log in window, so you know when you arrive to the password window.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Upgrading to JAWS 16

I am upgrading from JAWS 13 TO JAWS 16.

I have some questions and I hope someone can help me.

I need to know how to save the new version to my desktop and how to create a
hot key for it.

Can I leave the old version of JAWS on the desktop?

Also will my computer start up each time with the new version of JAWS?

Are there any major changes from JAWS 13 TO 16?

Thanks in advance for your help.
