Hi LeDon, You can also assign shortcut keystrokes to each version of Jaws. Below are a couple of ways to do this:
From: "Gerald Levy" < 1. Launch the Desktop by pressing Windows key-M. 2. Press J repeatedly until you land on the JAWS icon. 3. Press Alt-Enter to bring up the JAWS Properties page. 4. Tab to the Shortcut key field, and type in the shortcut key combination of your choice, like Alt-Control-J or whatever other combination you prefer. 5. Tab to Apply button, hit Space, then tab around again to the Okay button and hit Space. That's it. Now, when you press Alt-Control-J or whatever shortcut key you assigned, JAWS will be launched. HTH. Gerald From: "Flor Lynch" <florl...@iol.ie> yes. there are several ways. perhaps the easiest way is to pick your version of JAWS icon on your desktop, windowsKey+m, then the letter j until the version you want is highlighted. then press alt-enter for Properties. Then tab into the dialogue, shortcut tab. then when you have the shortcut key edit high;lighted, you can either assign a letter to be added to the pre-existing alt+ctrl keys, let's say, press j to make it alt-ctrl-j. (Or press ctrl-shift or alt-shift or alt-ctrl-shift with j or anyt other letter, whichever is your fancy.) Then when 6you've added in the letter, tab to OK and activate it with spacebar. Soon after, insert+f4 to unload JAWS; then press your shortcut key combo to ensure that it is working. - be sure to use a shortcut that is not already in use by another program; or one that windows allows you to use. Flor Take care. So to switch from jfw 17 over to 16, I do jaws key f 4, click the ok button to turn it off, then I do windows key r, type jaws16 and press enter. No spaces between the word and version number. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of LeDon Becker Sent: Monday, December 7, 2015 10:47 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] After updating to seventeen How do you go about switching from one jaws version to another one? Just wondering, in case I need to do that. Many people do this just in case they have a problem, let's say Jaws 17 isn't reading a webpage correctly, you can then unload Jaws 17 & start Jaws 16 to finish what you're doing. Personally I run Jaws 16 as my default because Jaws 17 doesn't work with Outlook Express well at all. Take care. Now for a question. Do I now have jaws sixteen and seventeen on my computer at the same time? How do I find out. And if I do still have jaws sixteen on my computer, how do I remove it? Thank you.
