It looks to me like jBoss might be in what could be called
the "Entrepeneurial" stage of development. While organizational
activity that takes in this phase may appear to be somewhat
disorganized, in organizations that prove to be successful, it
is often characterized by unique innovative thought and amazing
 accomplishments.

Given the inherent complexity of J2EE and the fact that the technology
and standards are changing continuously, jBoss is a tremendous
 accomplishment.

From my perspective, jBoss is one of the most ambitious, exciting
and dynamic projects on the planet.

I've watched this thread for a while, but just noticed it's
on the "dev" list and not on the "user" list.

That got me to thinking. One of the biggest reasons that the
project is so exciting is because that is the extent of the heirarchy!
Two levels! With lots of crossover.

Design and development are "open" in every sense of the word.

There is a certain amount of what I call "whining" that seems to be
an unavoidable part of all Open Source projects.

Then there's the famous 80/20 rule. In most human endeavors,
80% of the work is usually done by 20% of the people involved.

But who's going to buy a system that's 80% done. I might, but
 my boss sure wouldn't. ;)
