It's just an idea... Now, we have many kinds of (j2ee) packages where we process the metadata by first looking at the j2ee version, and then reprocessing with more detail with the jboss version. Also, Anatoly Akkerman recently requested a (non-j2ee) unified deployment descriptor.
So.. What if --when we are doing j2ee spec compliant deployment we use xsl (or something like it) to combine the 2 (or 3 or ...) dds into one unified dd that can be processed in one pass. --we can also deploy the unified version directly for those who like it. Good idea or am I nuts?
