My problem was I had been used to using the documentation provided in MS's Dev Studio which has more information than anyone could ever use. I was pretty frustrated for a while not because I didn't know the syntax of the language but because I couldn't find a resource like I was used to using and I didn't know all the classes available.
Now I just use the javadocs which provides me with all I need to know.
