I was aware of that. But there are many end-user oriented mailing lists
on OOo. There are few common mail clients that are good at dealing with
    mailing lists.

Mailing lists are used very much. How can a mail client that is not good
at dealing with mailing lists remain successful?

Thus I think mildly forcing people to reply on the list by default is a
    good idea.

Doing this with Reply-to causes a lot of trouble even for people who
know what they're doing and use good tools. It is quite common to
want to send a message just to the person who wrote, and not to the
list. But that can only be done thru hand-editing if the list munges
Reply-to. It is quite a pain.
