Right, I blieve this turned out to be the issue.

Eclipse Europa gives the following four choices:

a) Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
b) Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers
c) Eclipse RCP/Plug-in Developers
d) Eclipse Classic

Turns out I downloaded a) [since I'm a Java devloper], which doesn't
have PDE bundeled. The plugin works fine with c).

Suggest to put a description of this into the JessDE FAQ, or get rid
of the pde.ui dependency in the jess plugin (if possible).
