I do not know why but I find that some attachments are where you expect and the
shift tab can take you there but then there is the other ones that are embedded
in the body of the email. I think these are announced as graphics but don't
remember for sure. You have to go through and locate it and using right mouse
click or the application key and open it.
Again I do not know why they don't attach in the same way.

To clarify Kimber's situation, in case someone sees a solution after getting
more specifics, I've been corresponding off-list with her. When she shift-tabs,
she goes right into the subject line. So, even though JAWS verbalizes
"attachments" at the list level, it isn't finding the attachments field at all,
never mind the attachments themselves.

Based on a long-ago post by Ed Marquette, I suggested searching for embedded
objects with control-shift-o. However, JAWS found no objects. Ed's method, as I
understood it, would convert the message to text and place the attachment where
it belongs.

I can only think something in her organization's network is blocking JAWS from
finding attachments, even though it does detect them.

Based on this, I hope someone has some more ideas, ideally not involving
third-parties.

The problem only happens to me when my daughter sends an attachment from her
Mac. Harry

Most of the time I simply tab over from the subject line. The first thing you
should see is Message. Cursor over and you hit the first attachment.
However, I have a colleague like the one you describe above. I had to hunt
around for his attachments using the JAWS cursor. As I recall, I went to the
bottom of the message and started looking from there, but there's no quick and
easy way to do it. Wish I knew what makes his messages different.

Kim, I agree with Adrian. I also press the right arrow, arrow up to open,
press enter and I have the attachment. Judith

Thanks for replying, Adrian. But when I shift tab in this instance, rather than
taking me to the attachment area, my cursor goes to the subject line.
If I continue to shift tab I cycle through from, to, sent and the body of the
message itself. I never reach that area where I expect the attachment is
hiding. I can see that there is an attachment because in the message list jaws
says attachment, and because my colleague tells me he has sent one.

It's a mystery that, I suspect, has something to do with how the sender
attaches the attachment.
