I am using the older (last year's) model of the Lenovo Pro and it works great!
My son went into the bios, turned off the hot key option and enabled the legacy
option for function keys so now my functions keys work without pressing the fn
key.

Hi,
Usually there are utilities provided by Lenovo (or from within firmware) where
you can toggle this behavior.
As for laptops in general, I tend to favor those made by Dell, Toshiba and
Asus. Broadwell (5th generation Intel Core) processors are advertised as less
power hungry, but who knows what the real life battery life might be. For best
performance, I recommend sticking with JAWS 15 for now (if using a
touchscreen); in my opinion, JAWS 16 doesn't offer compelling features yet.
Cheers,
Joseph

I pmayed with a yoga laptop for a few days and i didnt find a way to set the
function keys to work normally. I had to use the fn key in combination with
other key to check the time etc this was the only drawback that I had with this
laptop. If there was a way to have the function keys work normally, it would be
a great laptop.

          Regards, Feliciano
