Hi Brad:
It seems to me that the user interface for Google Maps and Mapquest
changes from time to time forcing us to constantly adapt to whatever
those companies think their users will like.

Honestly, if you can get Google Maps to use the classic mode, it works
well. Here are some instructions, which I can't get to work, because,
after all, it's Google. But you may have better luck. One time I got
it to work, and it was great. I just tried and failed. Good luck; it's
a crap shoot:

I'm using MapQuest these days myself, and I don't know if I did
something to put it into an easier to use mode or if the way I have it
is just the default, but it works well for me.

I'm planning a road trip. I need a simple web site where I can input a
starting city, and ending city, and get a list of turn-by-turn
directions
with mileages.
Map Quest really sucks, and most sites I've visited are overloaded with
advertisements, graphics, and confusing alternatives.
any advice?
