For all of you who are having problems reading the Taskbar with insert-F11,
please bare with me as I explain things for all that need the help.
First, be sure that the setting for "Taskbar On Top" is checked. To find
this out, go to the Start Menu, Settings, Taskbar. The first item that
should come up should be Taskbar Always ontop--and make sure this is
checked--if not press the spacebar. Tab to the OK. Use alt-F4 to be sure
that you closed it.
Now, if it still doesn't speak, follow these instructions. They were posted
to the list a while back and the instructions were originally provided by
Henter-Joyce.
Hello to all those who need to get there taskbar back in focus. I have just
upgraded to Windows 98 and was given these instructions for configuring the
Taskbar.
I followed them, and now Insert+F11 reads the taskbar just as it used to do.
1. Place PC cursor on Task Bar and hold Shift + Control down while rapidly
pressing [ twice.
2. Type: TaskBar
3. Tab once and answer "Yes" to prompt regarding the overwriting of the
previous entry.
4. Tab to "Save in Frame File" and down arrow to "Default".
5. Tab to "Echo Group" and select "Silent"
6. Tab to "Hot Key" and press the Numpad Insert + F11. When you are prompted
to overwrite a previous assignment to the JKM file, select "Yes".
7. Tab to "OK" and press Enter.
When you press Numpad Insert + F11, JFW will now read the applications
displayed on the Task Bar.
