I downloaded the latest patch this morning, am running windows.98 on a
dell optiplex gx1 350 mhz pentium pc with 64mb ram and crystal fm
synthesis card and a ati video card. In all other situations, the video
card causes no problems for me and doctor jaws reports no problems. I
noticed in the patch changes text file it mentions a new jls for eloq.
before I downloaded this morning, I typed the deadly word beginning with
p into notepad and when focusing on the word, a ticking sound came from
my pc speaker and the system would not speak or do anything forcing me
to use the power off button. I then ran the newly downloaded patch and
obtained the same results. Perhaps now, we are getting into a grey area
of having to narrow down combinations of variables which might lead to
the situation described above. If any further testing or information is
needed, please let me know?
