Symptom: after minimizing all apps and bringing focus to the Windows 95
desktop, JFW does not speak the items as one navigates the selection cursor
among items on the desktop.

My home computer is a Micron 486-100 with 80 megs of RAM. I have tried
without success for hours trying to solve what appears to be a video
compatibility problem between JFW32031 andan ARK Logic video card (I'm not
sure of the exact model off hand). I downloaded and installed its latest
video driver software from the net. I have it set to 256 colors and get
the same result with any of the three available resolutions. Dr. JAWS
doesn't know of incompatibilities with this card, neither does it assure me
that the card is known to be compatible. I've corrected all problems
identified by comprehensive scans by Norton WinDoctor and Norton DiskDoctor.

Is there anything else I can try before accepting that this is a fixed
limitation of my video card, so the only solution is to replace my video
card. By the way, I've tried the three different video drivers the ARK
company posted in its development period for Windows 95.

Thanks, Jamal
