Okay, I just looked at the add/remove control pannel, and as it turns out,
there really are no checkboxes. I saw the problem I think you might have
had right away. Let me describe what happened for me and tell me if this
sounds familiar.
I opened the Add/Remove control pannel, pressed control+tab to get to the
windows setup page, and I was put in a list box of components. JFW told me
the first item in the listbox I landed on was checked, but as I used the
down arrow and then the up arrow to move around JFW stopped telling me
whether the items were checked. Is this what happened to you? What I did to
work with this was to press the down arrow until I came to the option I was
looking for, then I pressed insert+tab to have jaws tell if the option was
checked. When I pressed the spacebar and then pressed the insert+tab key
again jaws told me the item was unchecked. What I think you aught to do is
go back into the window class reassign dialog from that point and delete
the window class reassignment. I went into the window class reassign dialog
from that point as well, to see what window class was already assigned, and
it was listbox. So make sure that the window class for that window is
listbox. Like I said, this was the default on my machine. try doing that
and then try what I said I did above, and see if it works for you. Let me
