Hi Donna,
I saw the exact behavior in Eudora 4 on a client's system. You couldn't use
insert-down arrow to read the messages, nor could you arrow up and down
with the PC cursor. Eudora 4 may be using the Microsoft viewer for message
displays. Somewhere in the Eudora options is the switch to disable the
Microsoft viewer. Disable the viewer and you're back to the type of display
you get in version 3.x, along with the ability to read messages with the PC
cursor and insert-down arrow. . Hope this helps.
