While I agree with you, and use Nortons as well, Norton's and most of
the rest have the same problem.

Most of the virus scanners have the same problem in varying dagrees,
when they detect a virus, in order to protect your system, they freeze
its operation.  A A little text window pops up with some options, sort
of like this, "we have detected the BLA BLA virus Clean, ignore, skipt
etc.  When this happens, since the system is virtually frozen, JFW will
not speak, most of the time,  The problem occurs when the virus shield
detects a virus.  Now, this isn't true when your simply scanning for a
virus, if 1 is detected, I don't think the system will freeze.  As far
as I know, the only virus scanner that won't do this is something like
AntiViral Toolkit.  I haven't personally used this, however, vary
reliable sources tell me it works with speech.  Unless something new
has developed recently, this is the only 1 that don't freeze your
system.
