Jim & List members,
You can easily "suspend" McAfee Virus Scan to install new
software; I do it all the time. You also should suspend it in order to
run defrag or scandisk.
To suspend it, simply move your Jaws cursor down to the task
bar, turn on "Say All" (Insert+S cycles this), and then use the Jaws
cursor to find the systray representation for McaFee. You should have 2
there, one is the scheduler, the other is the Virus Shield software.
When you land on the Virus Shield, right-click on it, move your Jaws
cursor down to the "enable" submenu, route your PC to Jaws cursor here,
and then use your Jaws cursor to click on the "System Scan", which is
checkmarked by default. By clicking on it, you will uncheck it, and
then you can minimize (Insert+F6) and you should be back on your
desktop.
I do this on my 2 computers at home with Win98, so I also assume
it should be identical for Win95.
