I think that Tristram is right, the run-jaws-first was primarily put there
for users who need to log on to the internet.
I have found on my system at home that there is a timing issue, if
run-jaws-first is set on, it tends to come up before windows is completely
loaded and doesn't speak right.
Perhaps putting in the startup menu would put it back far enough in the mix
to make it work right.
I just prefer to set a hot key and load it when I think it's time.
