In response to the message here about using an extremely out-of-date
version of dos with a 350 MHZ machine, I have a couple of questions, quite
simple, really. First, if you are going to use a version of dos that does
not belong to Windows, i.e. dos 7, you cannot implement other versions
unless you boot directly to them, either with the dual-boot option, offered
in 95, possibly 98, or with System Commander or another similar program.
Assuming you know this, why ever would you use an antiquated version of dos
that is woefully more impoverished than is dos 7 in Windows? Second, what
functions and/or programs do you have that require dos functions,
unavailable in Windows' dos 7. Although admittedly diminished, as compared
with dos 6.2, there are few programs I know of, or functions not available
in Windows, that would require older versions of dos.
