I have not testted a Dectalk Access 32 with a Sound Blaster Live. But it does work
with the Eloquence software. Before going out and buying another sound card, try and
use the eloquence synth with Real Player g2 and see what happens.
Also in your default config file, under the synthesizer options. You can tell Jfw to
handle multiple waves. I cannot remember the actual wording, but this option does
assist with running software synths and wave.

Hello, listers,
I am running JFW 3.2 with Access 32 on a 200Mhz computer with 32 Mb of RAM
and a Sonic Impact S90 sound card. When I open Realplayer G2, I get a
message that some other application is using my sound card. When I ordered
this card, I asked for a Soundblaster so that I could run multiple audio
streams. I was sold this card and told that it has all of the capabilities
of the Soundblaster. I do not believe that it can accommodate the DECtalk
synth along with the Realaudio. Can someone give me the technical
information which describes the spec of a sound card that can perform these
two tasks so that I can demonstrate to my computer dealer that it will not
do the job, or so that I can discover that it will, in which case, I just
have to work with the setup. Thanks for any information you can give.
