You asked some good questions in your post. I suggest you send it to HJ
and ask them if they'll address this issue and also give us some answers on
the mailing list.
I do have a laptop which works quite well so far as the video driver is
concerned, but even so it has a quirk or two with the odd graphics in a
particular program. Coupled with this, the interaction of the machine,
because of the way that many laptops work (ask Bill Cameron), makes the
machine slow at times when the sound card and video card need to be
accessed. I therefore wouldn't necessarily recommend this one.
Yes, we therefore do need to know which laptops are recommended by HJ.
There should be a list.
As for the 16 and 32 bit drivers, I am sure someone can explain more
adequately than I, but I understand 16 bit drivers are leftovers from the
3.11 days.
It seems to me that we are going to get less and less (rather than more)
choice in these things if HJ don't do some work here and switch to 32 bit
drivers, but that's only my thinking.
