yes beth that is how the problem starts.
you see if you dial right after setting up the connection, and it does not
connect the browser gets set to off line.
once that happens the password is not saved.
so the next time you dial you remain in off line mode.
in my case it loaded the home page because i was switching providers.
so the cache already had it on the disk.
i am not saying this is what happened with sue, because obviously she has a
connection.
my answer was in response to the person that started the thread.
he was getting his home page, just like i was.
once you get in off line mode you need to re enter the password to make it
connect, once connected you can then change the browser state.
from what you are saying beth i take it that the browser should go back on
line automatically.
in my case it did not.
in my case i did add the password in the dial up connectoid and not to the
browser it self, and that may explain why the browser did not automaticly
return to the on line status automaticly.
or it could be that after the problem i maid a short cut for the connectoid on
the desk top to use to dial up and make connection, then launching browser
after i maid the connection.
this happened to me twice as i also hooked up a friend 2 days prior to that to
a provider.
Being a novice to hooking up to dial up connections i am definitely a pup.
learning each step of the way.
is their away to add to the browser itself the password?
if you know the answer it would be helpful.
thanks in advance.
