Where are you loading the DOS screen reader, and which screen reader is it?
I have ASAP loading in autoexec.bat, and whenever I run a DOS app, ASAP is
already reading it.
If you use this method, be sure you have the
Shell=C:\Windows\Command.com /p
in config.sys. This is needed to establish a "primary" shell/DOS session,
which allows any variables/settings made in config.sys or
autoexec.bat--before windows loads--to be there when you drop into a DOS
box, or run a DOS app from windows.
You can test this by adding a Path statement to autoexec.bat, such as the
following:
PATH=C:\Windows;C:\Windows\Command;C:\MyTest;
Once you reboot into Windows, drop to a DOS box and type the command, "PATH"
and hit Enter. Check the Path statement displayed and see if it has the
"C:\MyTest" listing within that Path variable. If it does, then your
environment before windows loaded is still in effect..
