I am not against of Festivals, Ceremonies we have in our great Indian
Culture. But I have a strong feeling against the money being burnt in terms of
Crackers. Can anyone justify the environmental pollution and also the noise
created out of our festive mood? Can we say YES to the accidents taking place
on the day of Deepavali. Earthen lamps (Deepa) are to be lightened on the day
as per the tradition. Many aged people have problem with the sounds of
crackers. Do we bother about them? We never say NO to the joys, happiness and
the celebration that gives pleasure to us as well as others. Recent flood in
Orissa had crossed all the records of devastations and we all are pretty aware
of the situation of people affected by Floods as well as by Communal violence.
In this situation, when people are not getting food to eat, roof over head and
a cloth to cover their body, the huge celebration and burning of money have to
be rational.
