Sounds good! 😄 I’m happy to draft a small KIP first and use it to gather feedback and converge on the intended contract. Before I start drafting, I’d like to make sure we’re on the same page regarding the scope. My understanding is that the KIP would be about making the public semantics of `KafkaStreams#cleanUp()` explicit: - As-is (documented): `KafkaStreams#cleanUp()` deletes all local state for the application. - As-is (actual): `KafkaStreams#cleanUp()` may preserve process identity metadata. - To-be (documented/contract): explicitly define that `KafkaStreams#cleanUp()` clears state but keeps specific metadata files. (We can discuss the exact exceptions and capture them in the KIP.) Is that framing correct? If so, I’m happy to draft the KIP and circulate it here for feedback! -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
