Yes. So we Japanese can write/use the Java applications and applets in
Japanese language. But the mixed character sets (in Japanese language) on
a PC may cause various problems, for example, with the handling of the
folder names writtten in Japanese( and the different character set ) .

It seems to easy to do, and worth trying. 
Once Jmol will be translated in only one character set of Japanese, it
will be liked by Japanese-speaking people, and the problems about
double-byte character sets will be easily appealed.
