Hi Everyone I'm posting to ask for assistance. I think this list could get me some intersting responses. As a few of you probably know already, I'm an artist. I'm starting a new series based on mondegreens. Problem is, I can't come up with many good ones!
A mondegreen is a mishearing of a word or phrase which results in a new meaning being generated. Hearing "youth in Asia" instead of euthenasia is a classic example. What I would like from you is examples of mondegreens. They can be things that you or a friend, family member, etc. misheard, or if you're looking for something to do, think some up! They don't necessarily have to be officially mondegreens either. Any slippage of language, even written language, is potentially useful for me.
