I've just recently been rereading Piers Anthony's Xanth series which is full of mondegreens. In one chapter they were eating soup made from eye of scream, and eye of smilk, two varieties of birds(ice cream, icemilk). They tend to be on the stranger, sillier side as it's a land of fantasy, but it makes for enjoyable reading.
