John and I just had our best Xmas ever. No presents, no parties, no guests, no booze, no piles of food. Just us and the dogs. It has been wondeful. We both hate Xmas for similar reasons to you Bob and Mary. Now we just don't get sucked in. It was lovely and peaceful and guilt free. I know I always felt bad for not thinking this was a great holiday. It was one I looked forward to with dread. Not any more.
