Hi Mack,

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm not surprised you are not familar wih an
inveterate lurker like me. Alan from Tasmania (nolonger on the Jmdl I
think) used to call me a wombat and I do stick to my burrow mostly. 

I'd forgotten that Boxing Day was not an American thing. I think
Brits, Aussies, Kiwis and even Canadians (Mags?) celebrate it as a
public holiday. It's the day after Christmas and, though its origins
seem to be a bit unclear, it might actually date back as far as the
Middle Ages. It appears to have originated with the well off giving
money and presents to the needy, servants etc. on the day after
Christmas. The "boxing" having to do with boxes holding gifts, not
with pugilism! :-)
