It's more than similar (I just heard this song for the first time a coupla nights ago) it is a lift. Same music, some of the lyrics mirror the original Leonard Cohen song. I'm sure she was conscious of what she was doing, and my guess is that she intended it as a homage or love-note to Cohen, who she surely bumped into on the coffeehouse circuit. RR
