There have been numerous TV reports showing how Palestinian school textbooks are teaching hate. No wonder they blow themselves up. All of this because it serves the interest of a tiny minority. Arafat said last week that he didn't mind having 1 million martyrs (or was it 3?). Now I can assure you that Israelis are not doing that. Of course there may be some extremists who do, but on the whole Israelis want peace. I visited Israel in 2000. I felt no hate from the many Israelis I met towards the arabs, nor did I feel hate myself. At the pro Israelis demonstrations (in Paris or elsewhere) I don't hear "death to the Arabs". The reverse is sadly not true.
There was an interesting special on CNN last night which puts the territorial claims in perspective: Israel is the size of New Hampshire, is 390 miles long, 85 miles at its widest point and 8 miles at its narrowest point. The commentator concluded with: "What if the rest of the U.S. declared war on New Hampshire?". Laurent
