That was a great analysis, Bob - and pretty much how I've always interpreted the song. But I do have another interpretation of the lines above. I always thought "the technical manual's busy" meant that it was busy, as in too fussy, or too convoluted for her to make sense of it. In other words, she's got a huge amount of advice about how to conduct herself in the relationship, and she can't decide which advice is best. Just another take on the song, but you know there may be more..... probably as many as there are members of this list, at least! Hell P.S.
