Wally! I was listening to the Carpenters Christmas songs on the radio today and thinking the same thing!! Talk about the same wavelength! :-) I was thinking how she might have felt ... how her family made her feel ... always made to stand in her brother's shadow. I always feel sad at the end of her songs. She had a beautifully smooth voice.
Speaking of smooth voices, I just picked up a Jo Stafford collectors series cd. I love her voice.
