The album was produced by Larry Klein and Joni Mitchell.

Like it says on the booklet:
"Larry Klein would like to thank: Joni, for giving me the priviledge and honor of re-contextualizing her great songs. Vince Mendoza, for his great talent and for being a patient and willing collaborator."

I'm pretty sure Joni is happy with the end result and there are many good reasons for that, but to me it looks more like Klein's project from a production perspective. Mendozza did a GREAT job with the orchestration AND the conducting. I'm a musician, and I can't think of anybody who could have done that better than he did.

This album is great, I think. By the way it wouldn't exist without Joni, but producing such a project, that is dealing with conducting the WHOLE project, is certainly out of her realm, indeed.

 > So why do some people think that Travelogue is more
 Mendoza's doing than
Joni's? I would think it sounds just as she intended.
He did the arrangements and conducting, which means that he was VERY responsible for the pacing as well as charting the various musical sections of the songs. Joni may be satisfied with the results (and I'm certain she is), but what Mendoza has done on this project are things out of her realm.
