I thought that people on welfare or other assistance could still get some kind of loans or grants for education. A friend was on welfare (single mom with a child) and got Pell Grants to attend Court Reporting school. One can always can get student loans here no matter what one's income. Outright grants and some scholarships may be another issue. Try living on welfare or unemployment in California where they just released a report stating that the *average* montly rent is $1,600 a month!! Kakki
